چکیده

In this paper, a new technique of signal detection has been proposed for detecting the orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) signal in the presence of nonlinear distortion. There are several advantages of OFDM communications system. However, one of the existing problems is remain considered as the nonlinear distortion generated by high-power-amplifier at the transmitter end due to the large dynamic range of an OFDM signal. The proposed method is the maximum likelihood detection with the symbol estimation. When the training data are available, the neural network has been used to learn the characteristic of received signal and to estimate the new positions of the transmitted symbol which are provided to the maximum likelihood detector. Resulting in the system performance, the nonlinear distortions of a traveling wave tube amplifier with OFDM signal are considered in this paper. Simulation results of the bit-error-rate performance are obtained with 16-QAM OFDM systems Keywords— OFDM, TWTA, nonlinear distortion, detection.

Effect of smooth nonlinear distortion on OFDM symbol error rate

Nonlinear distortion of OFDM signals can significantly increase the receiver symbol error rate (SER). Currently, distortion analyses rely on simulation, not yielding insight into the problem, or apply to specific nonlinearities only. In this letter, general analytic results are presented on the errors resulting from distortion. The results are applicable to smooth nonlinear distortion of an OFD...

Channel Estimation for Nonlinear OFDM System Using Diagonal Scattered Pilots

The next generation wireless communications require wideband information transmission with high data rates. Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is recognized as a promising technique which can efficently overcome the multipath effect and inter symbol interference (ISI) of wideband wireless channels [1]. A dynamic estimation of channel is necessary before the demodulation of OFDM s...

Clipping Versus Symbol Switching for PAPR Reduction in Coded OFDM

In multicarrier systems, the transmitted timedomain signal exhibits large amplitude peaks. This peak-toaverage power ratio (PAPR) problem complicates the practical use of multicarrier systems: the amplifier used to transmit the signal saturates because of the large peaks and causes non-linear distortion. As this non-linear distortion frustrates severely the detection of the multicarrier signal,...
